Digital systems accelerate employment; youth gain direct benefits from the PM-VBRY scheme

Under the Prime Minister Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), incentive amounts are being transferred directly via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of first-time job seekers and establishments creating new employment. The scheme operates entirely on the EPFO's digital platform, where beneficiary verification is conducted using Aadhaar authentication, UAN, and face authentication.
The government aims to boost approximately 3.5 crore employment opportunities through this scheme. This includes provisions for special incentives for around 1.92 crore first-time job seekers. A budget of over ₹99,000 crore has been allocated for the scheme.
According to the government, PM-VBRY is a significant initiative aimed at promoting formal employment, expanding the scope of social security, and strengthening the country's organized labor market.
