Massive Youth Protest at JPSC: Demand for Cancellation of 14th Exam and CBI Probe
Ranchi: Led by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), thousands of young activists from across the state staged a massive protest and gheraoed the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) office on Wednesday. They were protesting against alleged rigging, corruption, and irregularities in the 14th JPSC examination results. During the demonstration, activists raised slogans against the state government and demanded the cancellation of the 14th JPSC exam results, as well as a CBI inquiry into the entire matter.
BJYM State President Shashank Raj stated that the Jharkhand government has jeopardized the credibility of a constitutional body like the JPSC. He alleged that corruption was promoted instead of transparency in the recruitment process, and the future of lakhs of youths was toyed with.
He questioned why the JPSC Chairman had to resign if the recruitment process was entirely fair, asserting that this points to serious irregularities in the whole affair. Dismissing the state government's CID probe as a mere "eyewash," he maintained that a fair investigation is possible only through the CBI.
State In-charge Vinay Jaiswal alleged that the state government is violating the rights of the youth instead of providing them with employment. Meanwhile, Ranchi Metropolitan District President Romit Narayan Singh stated that attempts are being made to suppress the voice of the youth using police force, but the BJYM's agitation will continue until the youth receive justice.
The protest saw the participation of Manish Dubey, Vishwajeet Pathak, Sanjay Mahto, Randhir Das, Prince Kumar, Rahul Chaubey, Dheeraj Agarwal, Shweta Singh, Chandan Prajapati, state office bearers, all district presidents, and a large number of young activists.
