High Court's Major Ruling on Khadgarha Land Dispute

In a significant relief to 12 families residing on disputed land along Khadgarha Shiv Durga Mandir Road in Ranchi's Sukhdevnagar, the Jharkhand High Court has stayed their eviction for the time being. Justice Rajesh Shankar's bench also imposed a fine of ₹12 lakh on the petitioner, Mahadev Oraon, for obtaining a court order by concealing facts; this amount is to be paid to the 12 affected families.
Questioning the administration's actions, the court observed that proceeding directly to demolish houses without following the due process for removing encroachments was improper. The stay on any action against the affected families will remain in effect until the next hearing.
