Stern Reprimand for Sonahatu Circle Officer”: Deputy Commissioner Seen in ‘Action Mode’ at Janta Darbar; Differently-Abled Individual Receives E-Tricycle

Ranchi: District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri was seen in ‘action mode’ during the *Janta Darbar* (Public Hearing) organized at the Ranchi Collectorate. While providing swift hearings to the public's grievances, he issued strict directives to officials regarding several matters. At the *Janta Darbar*, while relief was provided to Pankaj Kumar—a differently-abled individual—through the presentation of an electric tricycle, officials were also reprimanded for negligence in cases involving land disputes, property mutation, and issues related to land mafias.

Pankaj Kumar, a differently-abled resident of Birsa Chowk, had arrived at the *Janta Darbar* accompanied by his mother. Taking swift action, the district administration handed over an electric tricycle to him, which had been provided by the state government. Following the receipt of the tricycle, joy was clearly visible on the faces of Pankaj and his family members. Pankaj mentioned that he had learned about the *Janta Darbar* through social media.

During the *Janta Darbar*, Prakash Kumar Mahto, a resident of Sonahatu, lodged a complaint regarding the failure to rectify errors in the land's *Register-II* records. In response, the Deputy Commissioner issued a stern reprimand to the Sonahatu Circle Officer and directed him to ensure the speedy resolution of the matter. He issued a warning that if any negligence were observed, formal disciplinary proceedings (*Form-A*) would be initiated against the concerned official.

Hari Prasad Chakraborty, a resident of the City Circle area, presented a grievance before the Deputy Commissioner regarding a pending case of succession mutation. Taking the matter seriously, the Deputy Commissioner spoke with the City Circle Officer over the telephone and directed him to ensure swift action in accordance with established rules and regulations.

Tetru Oraon, a resident of Bero, lodged a complaint regarding the non-receipt of compensation for land that had been acquired by the authorities. In response, the Deputy Commissioner sought an updated status report from the Land Acquisition Office and directed them to expedite the payment process.

The Deputy Commissioner also adopted a strict stance regarding complaints received at the *Janta Darbar* concerning the illegal encroachment of land by land mafias. He issued directives to the Revenue Department and the Sub-Registrar's Office to ensure immediate investigation and the initiation of appropriate legal action.

Furthermore, taking cognizance of complaints related to the *Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojana* (Chief Minister's Mother's Honor Scheme), the Deputy Commissioner ordered the concerned officials to conduct an inquiry into the matters. Additionally, they urged Panchayat representatives to encourage women associated with the scheme to pursue self-employment and increase their income.
