🔴 Brown Sugar Smuggling Racket Busted; Two Arrested
In a major operation conducted within the Kharsidag OP area of Ranchi, the police arrested two accused individuals involved in the smuggling of brown sugar. Acting on a confidential tip-off received by the Senior Superintendent of Police on Monday, a vehicle inspection drive was launched near Bhusur Chowk. During this operation, two youths riding a Pulsar motorcycle attempted to flee upon spotting the police; they were subsequently chased down and apprehended near the GAIL warehouse. A search of their persons and vehicle yielded 75 packets of brown sugar (weighing approximately 6.5 grams), two mobile phones, ₹2,200 in cash, and a motorcycle. During interrogation, both individuals confessed to smuggling narcotics from Purulia to Ranchi. A case regarding this matter has been registered at the Namkum Police Station, and further investigations are underway.
