
Holi Gift from Railways: Over 1,410 Special Trains to Run for Passengers
New Delhi: To ensure a comfortable and hassle-free journey during the upcoming Holi festival, Indian Railways has announced the operation of more than 1,410 Holi Special trains. Depending on passenger demand, this number is expected to scale up to 1,500. This is a significant increase from last year’s figure of 1,144 special trips.
Zonal Breakdown of Services:
* East Central Railway (ECR): Highest with 285 trains.
* Western Railway (WR): 231 trains to manage the heavy rush on western routes.
* Central Railway (CR): 209 special services.
* South Central Railway (SCR): 160 trains.
* Northern Railway (NR): 108 trains.
Other zones, including North Western Railway (71), North Central Railway (66), and North Eastern Railway (62), are also contributing to this massive exercise. These services, scheduled for March, aim to bridge the connectivity gap between major destinations across India. Indian Railways remains committed to passenger safety and efficient operations during this festive peak.
