CIC Launches AppCoMS 2.0, Making RTI Appeals Easier
New Delhi, August 17, 2026: The Central Information Commission (CIC) has launched its new AppCoMS 2.0 portal. The portal was inaugurated by Chief Information Commissioner Raj Kumar Goel.
The new portal aims to make the process of filing and handling second appeals and complaints under the RTI Act easier and more digital.
AppCoMS was first launched in 2016. The new version comes with several additional features. Applicants will be able to create accounts using their mobile numbers and email IDs and file second appeals or complaints online.
Applicants will also be able to check the status of their cases, download important documents, and access hearing notices, orders and decisions.
A separate user account facility will also be available for Central Public Information Officers (CPIOs). They will be able to view case details and submit relevant documents online.
The Commission said that decisions issued and sent by post after August 1, 2026, will also be uploaded on the upgraded portal and website in the coming days.
