Jharkhand/Ranchi: Bhavan Singh, President of the Hatia Mazdoor Union (CITU), has demanded that HEC management immediately pay the full salary for July 2023, failing which we will launch a fierce protest. In a press release issued on Sunday, he stated that withholding the wages of low-paid workers is not only unfair but also promotes industrial unrest. Management is well aware that an agreement was reached at the chairman level to pay both permanent and supply workers simultaneously, but it has not been followed.
Bhawan Singh stated that workers' wages are being withheld in the name of filling out forms, even though they are regularly reporting to work. This situation reflects the inconsistent policies of management. Workers want to accelerate production, but management's actions are fueling dissatisfaction. He described this as a step contrary to discipline and restoring trust.
Union President Bhawan Singh also accused HEC management of delaying the promotions of batch 18 and attempting to delay bonus payments. He stated that bonus payments should be made before the Chhath Puja, and that the increased DA from October 2023 to April 2025 should also be added to the supply workers' allowance. Workers should also be entitled to their earned leave, and details of these should be provided in a timely manner.
