New Delhi: NITI Aayog member Dr VK Paul on Thursday addressed the closing ceremony of the two-day departmental summit organized at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) on 'National AYUSH Mission and Capacity Building in States'. On this occasion, he said that coordination between the National Health Mission (NHM) and National AYUSH Mission (NAM) is very important to improve national health outcomes so that PM Modi's Healthy Nation - Healthy Citizen goal can be easily achieved. He also emphasized the importance of collaborative action between the Center and the states.
In this summit, senior policy makers from across the country, health officials of states and union territories, field experts and stakeholders discussed strengthening the AYUSH sector at the national and sub-national level. Raghu summarized the deliberations and key recommendations and urged the states to consider creation of dedicated AYUSH ministries or departments to ensure coordinated and sustained development in the sector.
