Police busy in identifying the culprits
Ranchi. Molestation incidents expose the security lapses in RIMS. Prof (Dr) Raj Kumar said that on Wednesday, an unknown person molested a junior doctor working in RIMS. In relation to this incident, a meeting was held with Dean Student Welfare, Additional Medical Superintendent, Head of Dermatology Department, Administrative Officer and Students under the chairmanship of Director RIMS. In the meeting, postgraduate students informed that while going to the hostel from the third floor of the hospital, they were molested by an unknown person. They informed that no security guard was present in the said corridor during the incident.
In this regard, it was unanimously decided to form a committee of Dean Student Welfare, Additional Medical Superintendent, Head of Dermatology Department, Administrative Officer. Director Prof (Dr) Raj Kumar has instructed the Additional Medical Superintendent to inform Bariatu police station about the entire incident. The committee will investigate the incident and identify the places where security personnel are required and immediately deploy them.
The director has said that appropriate action will be taken by identifying the security personnel who are unauthorisedly absent from duty in the area of the incident. He has also assigned the committee the task of closing unnecessary entry gates at night and marking only one entry and exit gate. Apart from this, the committee will also assess the need to install CCTV cameras as per requirement in the entire indoor campus from the security point of view. The committee will also visit the hostel premises and submit its report on strengthening the security system there.
