Mock drill conducted in Doranda area from 4:00 pm to 7:00 On 7th May 2025.
Ranchi: Under Operation Abhyas, the District Administration successfully conducted a mock drill in Doranda area for civil security in case of disaster. As per the instructions of the Home Ministry, Government of India, the mock drill was started at Mecon Bhawan in Doranda as soon as the siren rang at 4:00 pm under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate-cum-District Disaster Officer, Ranchi Manjunath Bhajantri and DIG-cum-Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi Chandan Sinha. The District Administration conducted the mock drill to ensure that people face minimum inconvenience and emergency services are not disrupted.
During the mock drill, rescue operation was carried out jointly by NDRF, Police-Administration, Fire Brigade, Ambulance/Medical Team, NCC. Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate-cum-District Disaster Officer Manjunath Bhajantri informed that during the mock drill, about 250 people were evacuated safely from the affected area, 9 people were injured (fake), out of which one was in critical condition. The seriously injured (fake) person was shifted to the medical camp set up in the BMP school. The Doranda area remained completely blacked out during the mock drill. The district administration had made people aware of the mock drill through various means. People in the Doranda area kept the lights of their homes off till 7:00 pm. The changes in the traffic system were complied with by the people, the use of vehicle lights was also negligible.
DIG-cum-Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi Chandan Sinha informed that during the mock drill, the response of NDRF, police-administration, fire brigade, ambulance/medical team, NCC was good.
