Ranchi, Jharkhand, October 6, 2026: Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) launched an e-waste kiosk at its headquarters in Ranchi as part of the ongoing ‘Special Campaign 6’, aimed at promoting the responsible collection and safe disposal of electronic waste.
The kiosk was inaugurated by CMPDI Chairman-cum-Managing Director Chaudhary Shivraj Singh, who initiated the campaign by depositing his old mobile phone as e-waste. CMPDI Director (Technical/P&D) Ajay Kumar and Director (Technical/R&D&T, BD) Anand Mohan also deposited their personal e-waste, encouraging other employees to participate in the initiative. Coal India Executive Director (Exploration) R.K. Singh and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
During the campaign, employees were encouraged to deposit personal e-waste such as old mobile phones, chargers and other electronic items at the kiosk.
‘Special Campaign 6’, being implemented from October 2 to October 31, 2026, focuses on institutionalising cleanliness in government offices, clearing pending matters and ensuring the optimum utilisation of resources. The campaign also includes disposal of obsolete and surplus materials, proper record management, freeing up office space and improving the workplace environment.
Special emphasis is being placed on the collection, segregation and safe disposal of e-waste to promote a cleaner and more sustainable workplace.
