Ranchi, September 26, 2026: Morahabadi Grounds in Ranchi witnessed an energetic display of awareness and enthusiasm on Saturday as the Red Run Marathon was organised at Bapu Vatika under the Intensified IEC campaign.
The event was jointly organised by Sadar Hospital, Ranchi, and the Jharkhand State AIDS Control Society (JSACS) with the objective of spreading awareness among young people and the general public about the prevention of HIV and Syphilis, safe practices, regular testing and the importance of maintaining good health.
Around 200 participants, including boys and girls, enthusiastically took part in the marathon and conveyed a strong message of health awareness through their participation.
Outstanding Performance by the Runners
In the Boys’ Category, Subhash Oraon secured the first position, followed by Gulshan Dungdung in second place, Akash Gagrai in third place and Satish Kachhap in fourth place.
In the Girls’ Category, Soni Kumari secured first place, while Nisha Linda finished second, Khushbu Linda third and Shikha Kumari fourth.
Strong Message on Health Awareness
The Red Run Marathon was more than just a sporting event; it served as an effective platform to promote health awareness across the community. Speakers at the event emphasised that accurate information, timely testing and appropriate preventive measures are essential to protect against HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
The successful conduct of the event was supported by the Khelo Jharkhand Athletics/JEP technical team, Counsellor Kanchan Ojha, Data Manager Naveen Kumar Singh, Bal Mukund Pandey (CHC Burmu), representatives of TI NGOs, officials from the Sports Department, along with Dr. S. Baskey, District Tuberculosis Officer, and Praveen Singh, District Programme Manager.
The enthusiastic participation of young people added fresh energy to the campaign and helped carry the message of building a healthy, aware and empowered society to the wider community.
