Government Steps Up Monitoring to Ensure Availability of Essential Medicines at Jan Aushadhi Kendras

The Central Government has further strengthened monitoring and supply mechanisms to ensure the availability of affordable and essential medicines at Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country. The government stated that 20,149 Jan Aushadhi Kendras are operational nationwide, including 763 centers in Maharashtra and 105 in Mumbai.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, 2,110 generic medicines and 315 surgical and medical devices are being made available. The government clarified that there are no major hurdles in the supply of medicines, and timely delivery is being ensured through an IT-based supply chain, regular stock monitoring, and supply aligned with demand.
