The death of a mother and her newborn son during childbirth—conducted under the illumination of mobile phone lights—in Rajnagar, Saraikela district, has exposed the abysmal state of the healthcare system. In the wake of this incident, the BJP has launched a scathing attack on the state government.
BJP State President Aditya Sahu stated that this is not merely an isolated accident, but a glaring example of government negligence and a dilapidated healthcare infrastructure. Labeling the state government as "insensitive," he alleged that healthcare services across the state have completely collapsed.
He noted that incidents highlighting the deteriorating condition of hospitals, a severe shortage of resources, and sheer negligence are surfacing continuously, yet the government remains willfully blind to the situation. "When a critical procedure like childbirth is being performed under the light of a mobile phone, one can only imagine the extent to which the system has degraded," he remarked in a sharp rebuke.
The BJP has demanded a high-level inquiry into this incident, strict action against those responsible, and immediate reforms within the healthcare system.
