🚨 Strict Measures on Boating in Ranchi: Ban on Boating Without Life Jackets; Action to Follow for Rule Violators

The District Administration has taken stringent measures to further strengthen safety protocols during boating activities at the dams and reservoirs within Ranchi district. Several key decisions aimed at ensuring the safety of tourists were taken during a meeting presided over by Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri.
During the meeting, directives were issued for the formation of a 'Water Transport Action Group' at the district level to ensure a swift and effective response during any emergency situation or accident.
🔴 Major Decisions Regarding Safety
The administration has clarified that, henceforth, no tourist will be permitted to engage in boating without wearing a life jacket. Strict punitive action will be initiated against boat operators who violate these regulations.
Furthermore, weather conditions will be continuously monitored during boating hours, and boating will be completely prohibited during adverse weather. A valid fitness certificate has been made mandatory for all boats.
⚠️ Complete Ban on Stunts and High-Speed Boating
The administration has imposed a strict ban on performing stunts, speeding, and engaging in risky maneuvers while boating. Violations will result in fines, suspension of licenses, or legal action.
👨👩👧👦 Special Emphasis on Children's Safety
The District Administration has appealed to families boating with children to ensure that life jacket straps are securely fastened and that the children keep their jackets on at all times.

Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri stated that while the district's reservoirs are being developed as tourist destinations, no form of negligence will be tolerated. The safety of tourists remains the utmost priority.
Several officials attended the meeting, including Superintendent of Police (Rural) Gaurav Goswami, Sub-Divisional Officer Kumar Rajat, District Transport Officer Akhilesh Kumar, District Education Superintendent Badal Raj, and District Sports Officer Shivendra Singh.
