📰Pandara Shooting Case Solved: Two Accused Arrested; One Injured in Police Encounter
The Ranchi Police have cracked the high-profile shooting case that occurred within the jurisdiction of the Sukhdevnagar (Pandara) police station. On the morning of April 21, 2026, 28-year-old Bhargav Singh was shot by unidentified assailants as he was exiting the Manokamna Temple after offering prayers. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Following the incident, the Ranchi Police took swift action and, under the directives of the Senior Superintendent of Police, constituted a special investigation team. Based on their investigation and technical evidence, the police arrested two criminals involved in this murder—Vijay Tete and Satyam Pathak.
According to the police, the accused, Satyam Pathak, was planning to flee from Ranchi to Buxar in Bihar after the incident; however, acting on a tip-off, he was apprehended near Nevri Vikas. Based on the information provided by him, a search operation was conducted around the Kanke Dam area, leading to the recovery of the weapon used in the crime.
While returning after the recovery, Satyam Pathak attacked the police team. He attempted to snatch a policeman's weapon in a bid to escape and fired 2–3 rounds at the police personnel. In a retaliatory move, the police opened fire in self-defense, resulting in Satyam Pathak sustaining a gunshot wound to his leg. He has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
🔍 Motive for the Murder: Land Dispute
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the deceased, Bhargav Singh, had paid a substantial sum of money to the accused, Vijay Tete, in exchange for a plot of land. As he did not receive the land, he exerted continuous pressure on the accused; this escalated the dispute and ultimately led to the commission of the murder.

The arrested accused, Satyam Pathak, has a prior criminal record and has been involved in several serious cases, including murder, attempted murder, and violations under the Arms Act. He had previously served a jail term in connection with another murder case and was currently out on bail.
