📰LDM Workshop to Enhance Financial Services Access; Emphasis Placed on Data-Driven Planning
Ranchi/Virtual, April 24, 2026: A pivotal workshop for Lead District Managers (LDMs) was organized at the state level via a virtual platform, presided over by Deputy General Manager (DGM) Santosh Kumar Sinha. Banking officials from all districts participated in the workshop. The event was organized in collaboration with MicroSave Consulting, a partner organization of NITI Aayog.
The workshop featured detailed discussions regarding the effective implementation of the Reserve Bank of India's 'Lead Bank Scheme.' Particular emphasis was placed on further strengthening the process of plan formulation and its regular review at the district level.
During the meeting, the necessity of regularly convening meetings of committees such as the DLRC (District Level Review Committee) and BLBC (Block Level Bankers' Committee) was highlighted. This is intended to ensure the timely resolution of local issues and to facilitate the better implementation of various schemes through these platforms.
Participants underscored the critical importance of utilizing data at both the district and block levels. Through this approach, it becomes possible to identify specific areas where access to—and usage of—financial services is lacking, thereby enabling the effective delivery of services to the Low and Middle-Income (LMI) segments of the population.
Furthermore, strong emphasis was laid on fostering better convergence and synergy among various government departments. Coordinated efforts involving banks, the district administration, and other departments can significantly bolster the efficiency and robustness of service delivery mechanisms.
Experiences shared by the LDM of Gumla district during the workshop provided valuable insights and useful guidelines for other districts as well.
Prominent officials present on this occasion included DGM Santosh Kumar Sinha; SLBC Jharkhand functionaries Roshan Chaudhary and Prashant Kumar; LDMs from all 24 districts; MicroSave Consulting's State Coordinator Ramesh Kumar; and members of the Delhi team, Sushma Kaul and Ravi Kaushal, among others.
