Crackdown on Cyber Fraud: Major Agreement Between FIU-India and I4C
India has taken a significant step towards curbing cyber fraud and financial crimes. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Financial Intelligence Unit – India (FIU-IND) and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) to enhance information sharing and coordination. The agreement was signed by Amit Mohan Govil, Director of FIU-IND, and Rajesh Kumar, CEO of I4C.
This agreement will aid in securing digital transactions, preventing fraud, and identifying perpetrators. Furthermore, it will provide investigative agencies with a robust information framework and financial institutions with early warning indicators, thereby bolstering a "whole-of-government" strategy against cybercrime.
