Chief Minister Meets Families of Air Ambulance Crash Victims; Assures Assistance and Employment
Ranchi, April 28, 2026:
Hemant Soren met with the kin of those who lost their lives in the recent air ambulance crash at the Jharkhand Secretariat. During the meeting, the bereaved families submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, demanding government jobs and financial compensation from the state government.
The Chief Minister listened to the families' grievances with sensitivity and expressed his deep condolences to them. He gave his assurance that the state government would extend every possible assistance to the affected families.
Several ministers of the state government were also present during the meeting. Among those present on this occasion were Vijay Kumar (the elder brother of the deceased, Sanjay Kumar), Dinesh Prasad (the father of Dhruv Kumar), and other family members.
It is noteworthy that on February 23, 2026, Sanjay Kumar—who was suffering from severe burn injuries—was being airlifted from Ranchi to Delhi via an air ambulance. Tragically, the air ambulance crashed near Chatra during the journey, resulting in the deaths of the patient, Sanjay Kumar; his wife, Archana Devi; his nephew, Dhruv Kumar; Dr. Vikas Kumar Gupta; paramedic Sachin Kumar Mishra; pilot Vivek Vikas Bhagat; and co-pilot Swarajdeep Singh.
