Launch of AI Training in the Department of Rural Development
Ranchi. The Department of Rural Development in Jharkhand has initiated Artificial Intelligence (AI) training for its officers and employees with the aim of making administrative operations more effective and technology-driven. More than 40 officers and staff members participated in six training sessions conducted during January and February 2026. The training provided instruction on utilizing AI tools—such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, Perplexity, and Gamma—to draft note sheets, summarize documents, conduct data analysis, and prepare reports. As part of this initiative, a 'Rural AI Support Cell' was established on October 17, 2025. The Department plans to develop live dashboards for monitoring various schemes and AI-based chatbots to provide information to citizens, thereby enhancing both transparency and efficiency in administrative functions.
