Ranchi: The Jharkhand State Unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has decided to extend its full support to the ongoing agitation led by Senior Residents and Interns demanding a revision of their stipends. The IMA stated that, amidst rising inflation and increasing workload, a periodic review of stipends is essential, and the proposal for a revision every three years is justified. The organization has also endorsed the peaceful protest being staged by the IMA-JDN on Monday, wherein members are wearing black badges. Furthermore, the IMA has announced its support for the proposed indefinite strike scheduled to commence on April 6, 2026, should a satisfactory resolution to these demands not be reached. The IMA has appealed to the government to take prompt initiative in this matter.
