Multi-Stakeholder Awareness Program on POCSO & Juvenile Justice Act Held in Ranchi
Ranchi, 17 January 2026: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ranchi organised a multi-stakeholder legal awareness programme on the POCSO Act and the Juvenile Justice Act at the Conference Hall, 40 Courts Building, Civil Court, Ranchi. The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp.
Judicial Commissioner Anil Kumar Mishra-1 said that POCSO cases fall under serious offences and carry provisions for strict punishment and fines. In the first session, Special Judge (POCSO) Birendra Kumar Srivastav explained the POCSO Act, 2012, investigation process and charge-sheet procedures. In the second session, Additional Public Prosecutor Siddharth Singh discussed the role of the prosecution in POCSO cases. In the final session, DLSA Secretary Rakesh Raushan shared information about the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015. The programme was attended by police investigating officers, panel lawyers, PLVs, staff, media personnel and other stakeholders. The vote of thanks was delivered by LADC Chief Praveen Kumar Srivastav.
