Jharkhand Bandh Observed in Ranchi Against Soma Munda’s Killing
Ranchi, January 17, 2026: Various tribal organisations observed a Jharkhand bandh on Saturday in protest against the brutal killing of Soma Munda. Under the leadership of Central Sarna Committee President Bablu Munda, thousands of supporters gathered at Albert Ekka Chowk and ensured a peaceful shutdown in the state capital, Ranchi.
Bablu Munda alleged that incidents of killings involving tribal community members have been increasing in the state, while the government and administration are not taking adequate action. He demanded a CBI inquiry into the Soma Munda murder case, immediate arrest of the accused, and strict punishment for those responsible. Several leaders and workers from different tribal groups participated in the bandh.
