Ranchi: A key meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Manjunath Bhajantri to ensure smooth, fair, and timely preparations for the Municipal (General) Elections 2026. The meeting was attended by Deputy Development Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvaniya, Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer Rajat Kumar, returning officers, assistant returning officers, and other concerned officials.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to complete election-related work with full transparency, fairness, and within the stipulated timeline. Discussions were held on identification and assessment of polling stations, security arrangements for sensitive and highly sensitive booths, training and voter awareness programmes, logistics such as ballot papers and election materials, and coordination among departments with regular progress reporting.
He said the Municipal Elections 2026 are an important opportunity to strengthen democracy and urged officials to work with dedication and teamwork to ensure a peaceful and successful election in Ranchi district.
