BJP to Run Campaign in All Mandals from January 8 to 10 in Support of 'G Ram Ji Yojana'
Ranchi: The State Working President and MP of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Aditya Sahu, launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, stating that the Congress is a party against villages, the poor, and farmers. He alleged that the Congress is constantly running a smear campaign against the 'G Ram Ji Yojana,' while this scheme is a big and essential step towards empowering rural India.
Aditya Sahu said that corruption, fraud, and looting have persisted in MNREGA for years. Scams have surfaced in several states across the country, including Jharkhand. He mentioned that cases of embezzlement amounting to ₹193.67 crore were registered in MNREGA during the financial year 2024–25, while in 2025–26, works were shown on paper in 23 states that had no existence at the ground level.
He stated that in view of these circumstances, the Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister, decided to implement a new act, keeping the goal of 'Viksit Bharat 2047' in mind. This new act, 'Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural)', is a more developed and effective form of the 20-year-old MNREGA, which is now known as the 'G Ram Ji Yojana'.
Aditya Sahu informed that under this new scheme, rural laborers have been guaranteed 125 days of work instead of 100 days. The scheme specifically focuses on four key areas: water conservation, construction of rural infrastructure, employment-generating work, and environmental protection.
He said that to ensure transparency and accountability in the scheme, provisions have been made for an AI-based fraud detection system, GPS mobile-based monitoring, weekly public disclosure, and Social Audit twice a year in every Panchayat. There is also a provision to provide unemployment allowance if work is not available. The ratio of expenditure between the Centre and the State government will be 60:40.
Targeting the Congress, he stated that the party is troubled because corruption is being stopped. He alleged that the Congress is uncomfortable with the increased workdays for laborers, the unemployment allowance, and the presence of the word "Ram" in the scheme's name. He accused the Congress of still being unable to move beyond the politics of appeasement and corruption.
Aditya Sahu announced that BJP workers will organize meetings and gatherings in all Mandals across the state from January 8 to 10 to convey the features of the 'G Ram Ji Yojana' to the public and expose the Congress's smear campaign.
BJP Media In-charge Shivpujan Pathak, State Spokespersons Pradeep Sinha and Ramakant Mahto, along with other leaders, were present at the press conference.
