Bilaspur: A significant Induction Training Program on Tasar Sericulture was successfully organized at CSB-BTSSO, Bilaspur, under the capable leadership of Director Dr. N. K. Bhatia, a unit of the Central Silk Board (CSB). This program is a vital initiative aimed at strengthening the capabilities of newly inducted CSB scientists.
Key Highlights:
* The scientific sessions, held on December 26, 2025, featured intensive discussions on critical topics such as quality seed production, disease surveillance (DM C), post-cocoon technology, cocoon sorting, grading, MRMA (Monitoring, Reporting, Mitigation, and Adaptation), technology transfer, and quality evaluation.
* Dr. J. P. Pandey, Scientist-D, delivered a detailed lecture on the Role of the Disease Monitoring Committee (DMC) in Quality Seed Production.
* Ashok Kumar, Scientist-B (CSB-STSC), highlighted Advanced Post-Cocoon Tasar Technologies and the Scientific Principles of Cocoon Sorting and Grading.
* J. Komal, Scientist-B, outlined the Role and Achievements of CSB-BTSSO in the area of MRMA and technology dissemination.
Conclusion and Outcome:
The program concluded with an Exit Test, Feedback Session, and Group Presentations, where scientists effectively demonstrated their acquired technical proficiency and scientific perspective toward Tasar Sericulture by sharing their knowledge, practical experience, and field-level understanding.
In his concluding address, Director Dr. N. K. Bhatia emphasized the importance of scientific discipline, quality control protocols, and technology-based interventions to strengthen the Tasar Silk Value Chain. He motivated the newly inducted scientists to utilize the acquired knowledge effectively in field implementation and research activities to contribute to the sustainable development of the sericulture sector.
The program was coordinated by Dr. H. Nadaf, Scientist-D. This training program proved to be a significant step toward strengthening scientific capabilities and technical skill development in the field of Tasar Sericulture.
