Chief Minister Hemant Soren Gives Biggest Assurance to Farmers, Paddy Procurement Drive to Begin from December 15
Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari Personally Reaches Out to Public Representatives to Ensure Large Participation
The programme is being implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, whose farmer-friendly decision has been widely appreciated across the state. To ensure the successful rollout of the campaign, Health, Food Supply and Disaster Management Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari has taken an active and hands-on approach.
Minister Dr. Ansari is personally calling ministers, Members of Parliament and MLAs, urging them to participate in the programme and motivate farmers. His outreach reflects the government’s seriousness and sensitivity towards farmers’ issues.
Dr. Ansari said that boosting farmers’ morale must remain the top priority. He appealed to public representatives to be present at the procurement centres during the launch. In case physical participation is not possible, he requested them to address farmers through online platforms to convey the government’s support.
The minister has also issued strict instructions to supply officers in all districts to coordinate closely with local public representatives and ensure the formal inauguration of paddy procurement at their respective centres.
Highlighting the positive agricultural output this year, Dr. Ansari said that good rainfall and better crop conditions have brought cheer among farmers across Jharkhand. To further strengthen farmers financially, the state government has ensured a one-time payment of ₹2,450 per quintal, including bonus, for paddy procurement. This decision has generated significant enthusiasm among farmers.
He reiterated that making farmers self-reliant and economically strong is both the duty and commitment of the state government. The government aims to provide farmers with all necessary facilities, support and security.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s farmer-centric initiative has received widespread praise, with all preparations completed at the 783 procurement centres across the state.
Dr. Irfan Ansari emphasised that active participation of public representatives will help turn the procurement drive into a people’s movement and reassure farmers that the government stands firmly with them at every step. His direct engagement with elected representatives is being seen in political and social circles as an example of responsible, grounded and sensitive leadership.
