💬 JMM General Secretary Calls Babulal Marandi's Accusations a Sign of 'Frustration and Political Opportunism'

Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Central General Secretary Vinod Pandey has outright rejected the accusations made by BJP State President Babulal Marandi. In a statement issued today, December 23, 2025 (correction from user's date), Pandey stated that Marandi's comments are indicative of his frustration and political opportunism.

Questioning Sensitivity and the Rule of Law

Vinod Pandey counter-attacked the BJP, saying that when the BJP was in power, their government was blind to the suffering and disasters of the people of Jharkhand, and today those very people are making a show of sympathy.

 * JMM Government is Sensitive: He asserted that the JMM-led government is sensitive and accountable, and respecting the law and court orders is their priority.

 * Demand for Clarification from BJP: Pandey asked BJP leaders to clarify whether they stand for the rule of law or illegal occupation.

 * Compensation by Rules: He stressed that the question of compensation is decided within the scope of rules and law, and not under any political pressure.

Response on Illegal Construction and Tribal Interests

The JMM General Secretary alleged that the BJP wants political protection for illegal construction, corruption, and collusion.

 * He said, "This is why they are trying to divert attention from the accountability of officers and builders."

 * PESA and Tribal Rights: Pandey remarked that the BJP's history on the PESA Act and the issue of tribal interests is known to everyone; they are the people who suppressed tribal rights for years.

 * He claimed that the JMM government has made serious efforts to implement laws related to tribal interests, including PESA, and the results will be visible soon.

Advice Against Politicizing the Judiciary

Vinod Pandey advised the BJP to reflect on the periods when they were in power before politicizing the judiciary.

 * He asked the BJP to state how many times the public had to approach the streets and courts for justice during their governments' tenure.

 * Assurance of Strict Action: He reiterated that the JMM government will not create any hindrance in the investigation and action but will ensure strict action against the culprits—be they officers, builders, or associated with any political party.

In conclusion, he advised the BJP to engage in self-introspection and said that the people of Jharkhand know who stands for their rights and who is merely issuing statements for political gains.
