📢 BJP to Hold 'Atal Smriti Sammelan' in All Assembly Constituencies from December 25 to 31
Ranchi: An organizational meeting, chaired by BJP State President and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, was concluded today at the BJP state office. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Executive State President and MP Aditya Sahu launched a strong attack on the Congress party.
Congress is 'Anti-Ram' and 'Anti-Developed India'
Mr. Sahu labeled the Congress party as 'anti-Ram' and 'anti-Developed India' (Viksit Bharat).
* He alleged that the Congress has love for infiltrators but not for the people of India.
* He called the Congress's rhetoric regarding the Modi government's 'Ji Ram Ji Yojana' a sign of their frustration.
Response to Congress on 'Ji Ram Ji Yojana'
Aditya Sahu responded to the Congress's opposition regarding the purpose and naming of the 'Ji Ram Ji Yojana':
* He stated that this scheme has been launched to provide employment to every poor person and to enhance their dignity and respect.
* Its goal is to create a new framework for rural development in line with the national vision of Developed India 2047, which is meant for the establishment of Ram Rajya in accordance with the sentiments of Mahatma Gandhi.
* Counter-attack on name change: Sahu recalled that the employment scheme was not initially named after Mahatma Gandhi.
* In 1980, Indira Gandhi merged old schemes to form the National Rural Employment Programme.
* Rajiv Gandhi changed it to the Jawahar Rozgar Yojana.
* Later, the Manmohan government changed it to NREGA and MNREGA.
* Sahu questioned Congress whether they had insulted Jawaharlal Nehru by changing the name?
* He clarified that this is not a name-changing scheme, but one created according to the current needs of rural India, as requirements have changed compared to 2005.
Corruption in Old Scheme, Transparency in New
Mr. Sahu alleged scams in MNREGA and highlighted the benefits of the new scheme:
* He stated that official MNREGA data shows that ₹11.74 lakh crore has been spent so far, of which most funds were distributed in scams and among middlemen, while the poor remained empty-handed.
* Features of the New Scheme:
* The new scheme will provide freedom from scams.
* Schemes are linked with real-time data and there is a provision for GPS mobile monitoring, ensuring benefits reach the correct beneficiaries.
* The scheme is particularly beneficial for farmers, as there is a provision to suspend the scheme for 60 days during planting and harvesting seasons to avoid labour shortage.
* There is now a provision for weekly payments, and the central-state expenditure ratio will be 60:40.
* There is also a provision for unemployment allowance if employment is not provided.
* He accused the Congress party of being anti-development, which is why they dislike the resolve for a Developed India.
