Illegal Slaughterhouses Near Bokaro Airport Demolished to Clear Path for Air Services

Jharkhand/Bokaro (M Bharat 24 News Live): In a major step toward commencing air services from Bokaro Airport, the district administration and Bokaro Steel Plant management jointly launched an anti-encroachment drive on Saturday to remove illegal slaughterhouses located adjacent to the airport premises.

A total of 29 unauthorized slaughterhouses near Dundibad were identified as major obstructions to the airport’s operation. The Bokaro Steel management had earlier issued notices directing the shop owners to remove their establishments voluntarily. Before the arrival of the administrative team, several shopkeepers cleared their shops on their own, while those who failed to comply within the given time faced demolition as bulldozers were deployed.

A heavy police force was stationed at the site under the supervision of the magistrate to prevent any disturbance or untoward incident during the operation.

Officials stated that the action marks a significant step toward the launch of flight operations from Bokaro Airport. However, they also acknowledged that some encroachments still remain in the surrounding areas, and the clearance drive will continue until the entire zone is free of illegal structures. The administration emphasized that air services cannot begin until the airport and its adjoining areas are completely cleared of encroachments.
