Grand celebration of Tribal Pride Year 2025 held at CCL Headquarters on the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda
CCL remembers the sacrifice and legacy of Dharti Aaba
The programme commenced with the traditional welcome of the chief and special guests, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
Members of the CCL Sarna Committee welcomed the chief guests Director (Finance) Pawan Kumar Mishra, Director (Personnel) Harsh Nath Mishra, and Director (Technical/Operations) Chandra Shekhar Tiwari with the traditional Sarna Gamchha. Distinguished guests included Dr Manoj Agaria, Nodal Officer, Jharkhand State Open University, Ranchi, and Premchand Oraon, Assistant Professor, Kartik Oraon College, Gumla. Dr Preeti Tigga from Gandhinagar Hospital delivered the welcome address.
Addressing the gathering, Director (Finance) Pawan Kumar Mishra said that tribal traditions are an invaluable treasure of Indian culture. He noted that the Government of India is observing Tribal Pride Fortnight from 1 to 15 November to honour the legacy of great leaders like Birsa Munda.
Director (Personnel) Harsh Nath Mishra said that the entire nation bows to Birsa Munda, whose life continues to inspire the youth. He added that his message of self-defence, self-reliance and self-respect remains relevant even today. He also extended advance greetings for Jharkhand Foundation Day.
Director (Technical/Operations) C. S. Tiwari highlighted that Jharkhand is a land of greenery and rich tribal culture. He said that Birsa Munda sacrificed his life to free his people from colonial oppression and awakened the spirit of freedom among tribal communities. He added that a person does not receive divine reverence without reason; Birsa Munda earned it through his deeds.
A documentary film based on the life of Birsa Munda was screened during the programme, which received appreciation from the attendees.
Following this, renowned folk artists and their troupe presented traditional folk songs in local languages, adding vibrant cultural colours to the event.
