Five-Day Celebration Concludes on Birsa Munda Jayanti & Tribal Pride Day

A five-day celebration marking the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Tribal Pride Day, and the 25th anniversary of Jharkhand’s formation concluded on Sunday at Women’s College, Chaibasa. The event was organised under the aegis of the IQAC.
Ceremony Marked with Floral Tribute & Lamp Lighting
The valedictory ceremony began with Principal Dr. Preetibala Sinha, Chief Guest and Principal of Tata College Dr. Suresh Chandra Das, and other faculty members offering floral tribute to Birsa Munda and lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Competitions Held Over Five Days
A variety of competitions aimed at showcasing creativity and awareness among students were conducted:
- Painting Competition: Students depicted Jharkhand’s art and culture.
- Essay Writing: Focused on Jharkhand’s ‘unsung heroes’.
- Debate: Arguments were presented both for and against the topic “Status of Women in Jharkhand.”
- Speech Competition: Students spoke on “Tourism in Jharkhand: Unexplored Opportunities.”
Speakers Highlight Cultural & Developmental Journey
Principal Dr. Sinha said such programmes enhance creativity, confidence, and social awareness among students.
Chief Guest Dr. Das spoke extensively on Jharkhand’s formation, tribal pride, and the state’s 25-year development journey.
IQAC Coordinator Dr. Amrita Jaiswal highlighted Jharkhand’s achievements and said fulfilling Birsa Munda’s dream remains a continuing challenge.
Winners Felicitated
The programme concluded with the distribution of medals and certificates to the winning students. Several teachers were also present during the event.
