Navayuvak Sangh Durga Puja Committee will build eco-friendly pandal this year

Jharkhand/Ranchi: The splendor of Sharadiya Navratri is gradually reaching its peak in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi. The nine-day festival of worship of Maa Durga will begin with Kalash Sthapana on September 22.

The work of pandal construction is going on in full swing at different places in the city for Durga Puja. In this sequence, a grand puja is being organized this time also in Navayuvak Sangh Durga Puja Committee Lower Chutia. More than 25 artisans from West Bengal are engaged day and night in giving final touches to the pandal. More than 50 percent of the pandal has been constructed. The patron of the committee, Rajkumar Mahato, said on Saturday that this time the theme of the pandal is that Maa Durga will be seen riding a boat. This format is being constructed with bamboo and Hooghly leaves. The pandal will be completely eco-friendly. The expenditure on organizing the puja is estimated to be more than Rs 15 lakh.

He said that eight lakhs will be spent on pandal construction, 81 thousand on the statue, one lakh on sound, two lakhs on bhog bhandara, other expenses 3.2 lakhs, total expenditure will be 15 lakh rupees.

He said that the height of the pandal will be 50 feet, width 70 feet and length 80 feet.

He said that the statue of Maa Bhavani is being made by Kartik Chitrakar, a resident of Hooghly, Kolkata. Maa Durga will be seen killing Mahishasura. The height of the statue will be 14 feet and width 18 feet. The statue will also be eco-friendly. The clothes and makeup will also be made of clay. There will be a proper puja. The pandal will be inaugurated in the evening on September 28. During the puja, bhog will be distributed after the aarti.

He said that committee president Mithilesh Gop, Radheshyam Kesari, Pramod Gop, Chhatradhari Mahato, Arvind Mahato, Sanjay Prasad, Manoj Gop, Gopal Thakur, Deepak Prasad, Pradeep Chaudhary, Ravi Gop and other members are working hard to make the puja a success.
