Ranchi: The High Court has sought a response from the government on non-payment of paddy money for the financial year 2021-22 to 126 farmers of Padwa block of Palamu district. The court of Chief Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Rajesh Shankar has asked the government to explain why the outstanding amount has not been paid yet. The court also directed to file a progress report of this matter. The case will be heard next on September 11. Asha Devi has filed a PIL in this regard. It has been said in the petition that 50 percent of the paddy sale amount of the financial year 2021-22 is pending for the farmers of Padwa block of Palamu. It was said by the government that the outstanding amount will be paid by the first week of August 2024. But the payment has not been made yet. On this, the court directed the government to file a reply.
