No recommendation, no bribe, only merit will be the basis: Deputy Commissioner
Ranchi: The Chowkidar appointment process in the district is now going to be completely hi-tech and transparent. A meeting of the District Chowkidar Appointment Committee was held in the Collectorate Auditorium on Friday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri. The purpose of the meeting was - review of the preparations for the physical efficiency test of the candidates successful in the written examination. 933 candidates have been successful in the written examination for 294 Chowkidar posts, who will now have to undergo physical examination in Khelgaon. The special thing is that this time RFID chip technology will be used in the process, so that the race, height and other parameters will be completely under digital monitoring.
Deputy Commissioner Bhajantri gave clear instructions to all the concerned officials that the examination should be fair, malpractice-free and in a candidate-friendly environment. He asked to ensure all the necessary facilities like toilet, drinking water, fan, electricity, medical team, ambulance, CCTV and videography. Your merit is the basis of selection. Do not fall prey to any fraud or broker. The Deputy Commissioner made this appeal to the candidates in clear words. He told that the reinstatement process is being done with complete transparency.
DIG cum Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Sinha, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sumit Agarwal, Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer Utkarsh Kumar and other committee members were also present in the meeting.
Meanwhile, some technical errors were also sympathetically resolved by the committee. The caste category of three candidates was amended due to typing mistake and a candidate of EWS category was also considered eligible by the committee and it was decided to include him in the physical examination. Ranchi District Administration has reiterated that there will be no irregularities in the reinstatement process. Neither recommendation nor bribe, only merit will be the basis.
