Ranchi: BJP Jharkhand President Aditya Sahu, addressing a press conference at the BJP state office, accused the Congress and opposition parties of spreading confusion and making baseless allegations against constitutional institutions.
Sahu said the Election Commission’s joint statement had clarified that major decisions related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) were taken unanimously by all three Election Commissioners. He alleged that the Congress had been trying to create confusion among the public by claiming that there were differences within the Election Commission.
According to Sahu, the Election Commission’s clarification has exposed what he described as the Congress’s “lies and fabricated narrative” regarding the electoral revision process. He said the original SIR order of June 24, 2025, as well as subsequent schedules, were approved with the consensus of the full Commission.
Sahu also accused the opposition of misleading people over Form-6. He said the declaration attached to Form-6 under the SIR process had been upheld by the Supreme Court and claimed that there had been no manipulation of the prescribed procedure.
The BJP state president further alleged that the Congress repeatedly questions the credibility of constitutional institutions whenever it faces political setbacks. He said the party should respect official clarifications issued by the Election Commission instead of making what he called “baseless allegations.”
Sahu also referred to earlier controversies involving Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, including his criticism of EVMs, the Election Commission and statements related to the Balakot air strike and the India-China military confrontation at Tawang.
He demanded that the Congress leadership apologise to the country and constitutional institutions for what he described as false allegations and misinformation.
BJP state spokesperson Ajay Shah, Rafia Naz, media co-in-charge Satish Sinha and Neeraj Singh were also present at the press conference.
