The sweetness of Jharkhand's soil now reaches global markets
Ranchi: The hard work of Jharkhand’s women farmers is now gaining recognition in international markets. The first consignment of two tonnes of Amrapali mangoes, produced in orchards developed under the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana in Deoghar and Gumla districts, has reached Dubai. These mangoes are being appreciated by customers at Dubai’s prestigious Lulu Mall for their quality and sweetness.
With the support of JSLPS, women's self-help groups and farmer producer organizations are being linked to modern marketing systems, providing a global platform for their products. Previously, Amrapali mangoes from Jharkhand have also reached markets in London and Italy.
Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh stated that this success is the result of the dedication and commitment to quality shown by the hardworking women of Jharkhand. The Birsa Harit Gram Yojana is emerging as a strong medium for self-reliance and improved livelihoods for rural women.
She added that the government's goal is to increase the income of Jharkhand's women farmers and connect them to the global market by taking their products to as many countries as possible.
