Strict directives from Police Captain Sadiq Anwar Rizvi at crime meeting: Special focus on crime control, cybercrime, and road safety
Orders issued for the speedy disposal of pending cases; police on high alert for the Rath Mela and Kanwar Yatra
Lohardaga: To further strengthen crime control and law and order in the district, Superintendent of Police (SP) Sadiq Anwar Rizvi held a crucial crime meeting on Thursday with senior police officials, station house officers (SHOs), and officers from various branches. During the hours-long meeting, a detailed review was conducted regarding crime control, the disposal of pending cases, road safety, cybercrime, illegal mining, the anti-drug campaign, and security arrangements for the upcoming Rath Mela and Kanwar Yatra.
During the meeting, the SP inquired about criminal activities in the respective areas of the SHOs and issued instructions for the prompt disposal of pending cases, non-bailable warrants, attachment of property proceedings, and public complaints. He emphasized that police proactiveness, vigilance, and accountability are essential for effective crime control.
Directing strict compliance with NGT guidelines, SP Sadiq Anwar Rizvi ordered stern action against those involved in illegal mining and transportation during the ban period (June 11 to October 15).
Orders were issued to bolster security arrangements, increase regular patrolling, conduct vehicle checks, and enhance surveillance at all major Shiva temples—including Khakhparta Shiv Dham and Akhileshwar Mandir—in view of the upcoming Rath Mela, Kanwar Yatra, and the Mondays of the holy month of Shravan. The SP clearly stated that anti-social elements attempting to disrupt law and order would be dealt with strictly.
Cybercrime and online fraud were also key topics of discussion. The SP instructed officers to raise public awareness about cybercrime and ensure immediate action in such cases.
Emphasis was also placed on completing investigations within the stipulated timeframe and filing charge sheets in court for cases related to crimes against women, the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and the POCSO Act.
The SP stated that winning the public's trust is the police's greatest responsibility. Instructions were also issued to maintain constant surveillance on the activities of criminals and to keep their records updated.
While ordering special drives against drugs, gambling, illicit liquor, and other unlawful activities, it was stated that no negligence regarding crime in the district would be tolerated at any level.
It was also announced during the meeting that police officers performing exceptionally well would be honored with certificates of appreciation. The Public Prosecutor, Police Advocate Vivek Kumar, DSP (Headquarters) Samir Tirkey, SDPO Shraddha Kerketta, SDPO (Kisko) Diwakar Kumar, and Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Ratnesh Mohan Thakur, along with all the district's SHOs and other officials, were present on the occasion.
