Ranchi, July 10, 2026.
The Health Department remains actively engaged in Ranchi district as part of the 100-day TB eradication campaign aimed at realizing the goal of a TB-free India. In this initiative, a special TB screening and testing camp was organized in a designated high-risk village within the Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Ulidih area.
Health check-ups for villagers were conducted at the camp, held under the guidance of Ranchi Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar and District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. S. Baski. A total of 110 people underwent TB screening during the campaign, while 52 individuals underwent chest X-rays based on observed symptoms.
Two potential TB patients were identified during the screening; they were provided with sputum containers for further confirmatory testing. The Health Department emphasized that TB can be completely defeated through early detection and regular treatment.
During the camp, villagers were provided with crucial information regarding TB symptoms, prevention, testing, and treatment. Health workers urged the public not to delay getting tested if they experience a cough or other symptoms.
DPC Rakesh Rai, along with Community Health Officers, ANMs, STSs, STLSs, X-ray technicians, Sahiyas, and Sahiya Sathis, played a significant role in making this campaign a success.
