Ranchi Traffic Police Tightens Grip on Drunk Drivers: 4,973 Vehicles Inspected in 2 Months — 114 Drivers Apprehended
Ranchi: Following persistent complaints from the Ranchi urban area regarding drivers operating vehicles under the influence of intoxicants, the Ranchi Traffic Police has intensified its special campaign against drunk driving. The police state that such drivers cause inconvenience to the general public and pose a constant risk of road accidents.
Acting under the directives of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi, the Superintendent of Police (Traffic) has constituted a special team to conduct continuous vehicle inspection drives at various locations across all traffic police station jurisdictions within the city.
As part of this campaign, a total of 4,973 vehicles were inspected over the past two months. During these inspections, 114 drivers tested positive for driving under the influence of alcohol. Appropriate legal action has been initiated against all of them under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The Ranchi Traffic Police appeals to the general public and motorists to refrain from operating vehicles while under the influence of intoxicants. They urge everyone to prioritize not only their own safety but also the safety of others, and to strictly adhere to all traffic regulations.
