Vehicle Inspection Drive in Lohardaga: ₹1.59 Lakh in Fines Collected from 40 Vehicles
Lohardaga, April 17, 2026: Acting under the directives of District Transport Officer Jaya Shankhi Murmu, a special vehicle inspection drive was conducted on the 143AG main road, falling under the jurisdiction of the BS College Picket Police Station. During this campaign, which ran from 11:30 PM to 2:30 PM, approximately 150 to 200 two-wheelers and four-wheelers were inspected. The inspection focused on compliance regarding driving licenses, helmets, seat belts, speeding, triple riding, mobile phone usage while driving, and vehicle operation by minors. In cases involving rule violations, a total fine of ₹1,59,500 was collected from 40 two-wheelers. The officials also took the opportunity to raise awareness among drivers regarding the importance of adhering to road safety regulations.
