Sarhul Festival in Karamtoli: Chief Minister Calls for Nature Conservation
The Sarhul Puja Festival–2026 was organized at the Tribal College Hostel campus in Karamtoli, Ranchi, attended by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Performing rituals according to traditional rites, he prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state.
The Chief Minister stated that the Sarhul festival symbolizes the deep faith of the tribal community in their culture and in nature. He emphasized that nature is the very foundation of life, and without it, human existence is impossible; therefore, everyone must remain vigilant regarding the conservation of nature.
He further remarked that it is our responsibility to cherish the traditions handed down to us by our ancestors and to pass them on to the next generation. He noted that upholding these values remains essential, even in today's rapidly changing times.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister added to the festive spirit by playing the *Mandar* (a traditional drum). Also present at the event, Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey and MLA Kalpana Soren extended their Sarhul greetings to the people of the state.
