Maha Abhiyan against Filariasis: Medicine to be distributed at booths today in four Ranchi blocks
Ranchi: Chief Correspondent: To make Sonahatu, Tamar, Rahe, and Kanke blocks of the district free of filariasis, the Health Department is launching a Mass Drug Administration (MDA) campaign today (February 10) under the National Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination Program. A total of 619 booths have been set up for this purpose.
According to information provided at the press conference, the campaign aims to administer anti-filariasis medicine to approximately 491,014 people. DEC and Albendazole tablets will be distributed free of charge under the supervision of health workers. Children under 2 years of age, pregnant women, and the seriously ill are not required to receive this medicine.
For those who cannot receive the medicine at the booth today, a door-to-door administration program will be conducted until February 25. The Health Department has appealed to everyone to take this medicine to avoid incurable diseases like elephantiasis.
