Mediation Paves Way for Speedy Justice, Will Reduce Pendency of Cases: District Judge, Ranchi

A one-day conference aimed at strengthening the culture of mediation was organized by the District Legal Services Authority, Ranchi at the Conference Hall, 40 Courts Building, Civil Court Campus, Ranchi. The programme was held under the guidelines of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority.

Addressing the conference, District Judge, Ranchi Anil Kumar Mishra said that mediation plays a vital role in ensuring speedy and amicable disposal of cases. He emphasized that mediators and advocates have a crucial role in resolving disputes through mediation, which helps reduce the burden on courts and provides timely relief to litigants.

Principal Judge, Family Court, Ranchi Pawan Kumar highlighted that even complex disputes can be effectively resolved through mediation, saving both time and cost while maintaining mutual harmony between parties.

During the first technical session, Additional Principal Judge, Family Court, Ranchi Rajesh Kumar Singh stated that the primary objective of the conference was to ensure expeditious disposal of cases referred for mediation. He added that this would significantly reduce the number of pending cases and make the justice delivery system more accessible. He also discussed the role of judicial officers and magistrates in promoting mediation.

In the second technical session, mediator Mamta Shrivastava elaborated on the benefits of mediation and shared insights into its practical advantages.

The one-day conference was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The welcome address was delivered by Judicial Magistrate Ekta Saxena, while the programme was conducted by DLSA Secretary Rakesh Roushan.

Judicial officers, judicial magistrates, advocates, panel advocates, public prosecutors, court staff, PLVs, media persons and members of LADCS were present on the occasion.
