
DALSA Ranchi Launches Drug De-addiction Awareness Campaign, Spreads Message Through Street Play
The programme is being implemented under the guidance of the Executive Chairman of Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority and under the leadership of the District Judge, Ranchi. On 10 January 2026, in accordance with NALSA SOPs and keeping in view the digital reach among youth, special emphasis was laid on online awareness and media engagement.
As part of the initiative, posters, videos and infographics were widely circulated on social media platforms. Awareness messages were shared through WhatsApp groups, websites, and in coordination with local print and electronic media to ensure maximum outreach. News articles and interviews related to the DON–2025 Scheme were published, and helpline numbers along with support resources were disseminated through digital platforms.
As part of the campaign, DALSA Secretary Rakesh Raushan participated in interviews and panel discussions on Ranchi Doordarshan, highlighting the importance of drug de-addiction and explaining the objectives of the NALSA DON–2025 Scheme. Mediator Madhukar and Lifesavers NGO head Atul Gera were also present during the discussions. In addition, messages on drug-free living were shared with the public through interviews aired on Radio City FM, with significant contributions from RJ Sanky and RJ Manoj.
Furthermore, on 10 January 2026, a street play (nukkad natak) was staged at the Pahari Mandir premises under the NALSA DON–2025 Scheme. Through impactful performances, the street play highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse and conveyed the message of a drug-free society. The play was directed and performed by Ashok Gop, with artists Himanshu, Rohit, Dharmendra Kashyap, Sumant, Varsha and Sharmishtha, whose powerful acting left a strong impression on the audience.
DALSA Secretary Rakesh Raushan stated that the main objective of the campaign is to steer youth away from substance abuse and encourage them to become healthy, aware and responsible citizens.
