Lohardaga DC takes strict action against illegal mining: Directs stringent measures in Task Force meeting

Regular action to be taken against illegal transportation and storage of sand and minerals

Lohardaga:

A crucial meeting of the District Level Mining Task Force was held on Monday at the Collectorate auditorium, chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Tarachand. The meeting discussed strategies to strictly curb illegal mining, transportation, and storage of minerals within the district. The Deputy Commissioner gave clear instructions to all concerned officials to ensure stringent action.

During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of the actions taken in cases of illegal mining and transportation during the past month. The review included discussions on seized vehicles and imposed penalties. The Deputy Commissioner directed that the pace of action in such cases should be further accelerated and that this process should continue regularly.

Special focus on illegal sand extraction

The meeting specifically focused on the issue of illegal mining, storage, and extraction of sand. Dr. Tarachand directed all Circle Officers (COs) of the district to conduct regular patrols and take action in their respective areas. In addition, Hindalco Industries was also directed to immediately ensure compliance with all instructions given earlier.

The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police Sadiq Anwar Rizvi, Sub-Divisional Officer Amit Kumar, Assistant Mining Officer Raja Ram Prasad, along with all Circle Officers and other concerned officials. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that illegal extraction of minerals will not be tolerated and that it will be ensured that there is no loss of government revenue.
