Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tarachand visits Kharki Panchayat in Kisko Block

Instructions issued on seed distribution, Anganwadi monitoring, water conservation, road repair and welfare schemes

According to Press Release No. 638 issued by the District Public Relations Office, Lohardaga, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tarachand visited Kharki Panchayat under Kisko Block and held a meeting with villagers to review the implementation of government schemes and address local issues.


Farmers urged to obtain seeds only through LAMPS-PACS

The Deputy Commissioner advised farmers to procure wheat, gram and mustard seeds for the Rabi season only through LAMPS-PACS, as these seeds are being provided at subsidised rates (half the price) under the Seed Exchange Scheme.
He informed that the seeds undergo multiple quality checks before reaching farmers and encouraged LAMPS-PACS to increase distribution to enhance their own revenue.


KYC update mandatory for beneficiaries of Maiyaan Samman Yojana

Women beneficiaries who are not receiving benefits due to incomplete KYC were asked to update their details immediately.
BDOs were instructed to conduct door-to-door surveys to verify eligible beneficiaries.
All PVTG families of Birhor Tola in Semardih will be surveyed for the issuance of birth certificates, Aadhaar cards and Ayushman cards.


Anganwadi centres must operate regularly

The Deputy Commissioner directed the CDPO of Kisko to ensure daily and proper functioning of all Anganwadi centres and instructed that all children must attend Anganwadi or primary school regularly.


Formation of Water User Committees

Villages receiving tap water supply under the Jal Jeevan Mission were instructed to create Water User Committees and collect maintenance tax for future repairs.
He advised villagers not to drink river water due to the risk of bacterial infections.


Beneficiaries instructed to complete house construction

Those who have received instalments under housing schemes were asked to complete their houses promptly.
People without Ayushman cards were asked to get them made through VLEs.
The DC appealed to villagers to collectively eliminate child marriage and witchcraft practices, avoid alcohol and drugs, and encourage women not to engage in selling local liquor.

He recommended selecting low-water crops based on local water availability, forming Farmer Producer Groups, staying informed about government schemes and getting soil testing done.


Road repair to begin within one week

Acting on villagers’ complaints regarding the poor condition of the Kisko–Upar Kocha road (via Kharki), the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Rural Works Department to start repair work within one week and to create an alternative pathway at the site of the damaged bridge.


Inspection of Birhor Colony

During his visit to Birhor Colony, he directed Anganwadi workers to ensure nutritious food for all registered children.
He urged PVTG families to avoid alcohol consumption and local liquor brewing and stressed the importance of educating all children.


Mustard seed distribution among farmers

At the Kisan Vigyan Kendra, Kisko, the DC distributed mustard seeds to 11 farmers.
He inspected the campus pond, horticulture units and mustard oil production centre and discussed further development possibilities.

Additional Collector Jitendra Munda, BDO Arun Oraon, Circle Officer Ajay Kumar, Mukhiya Chandmuni Devi, Medical Officer Ashok Odya, CDPO Jyoti Prasad and Agriculture Scientist Dr. Kiran were among the officials present.
