Demand for Control Over Stray Animals Intensifies, Memorandum Submitted to Deputy Commissioner

East Singhbhum, November 17:

Rising incidents involving stray animals in the city have prompted the Anti-Corruption Foundation of World to urge the district administration to take immediate action. On Monday, a delegation led by Jharkhand State General Secretary Shashi Acharya met Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi and submitted a detailed memorandum.

Roads, Junctions and Colonies Becoming Unsafe

The memorandum stated that the increasing presence of stray dogs, bulls and other cattle on roads, intersections and residential areas has created unsafe conditions for the public.

In recent weeks, several women have been injured in attacks by wild bulls, while cases of dog bites have become increasingly common, spreading fear and frustration among residents.

Key Demands Raised by the Organisation

The delegation urged the administration to take the following steps:

Immediate control and removal of stray animals roaming on streets

Relocation of these animals to safe and designated shelters

Speeding up the construction of permanent animal shelter homes

Restarting the dog sterilisation drive in an effective manner

Clearing stray dogs and cattle from crowded areas and shifting them to regulated zones

The organisation emphasised that without urgent measures, incidents of accidents and attacks will continue to rise, putting public safety at risk.

Warning of Agitation if Demands Not Addressed

State General Secretary Shashi Acharya and Panchayat Committee Member Sunil Gupta warned that if no prompt action is taken on these public-interest demands, the organisation will be compelled to launch an agitation.

They said that public safety cannot be compromised and any delay in action will be the responsibility of the concerned administrative officials.

Members Present

Those present included State General Secretary Shashi Acharya, District President Ravindra Kaur, Saraikela President Sujata Singh, Pooja Singh, and other members of the organisation.
