The High Court directed the government to file an affidavit regarding the district school and ambulance service

 

Jharkhand/Ranchi(H.S): The High Court heard the court's suo motu cognizance of the deplorable conditions of the CM School of Excellence in Ranchi, the Amar Shaheed Thakur Vishwanath Shahdev District School and its hostel, and another case in which a man, unable to find an ambulance, carried his ailing wife on his shoulders and walked on foot.

The court directed the state government to file affidavits in both cases. The court has set November 3rd for the case of the Amar Shaheed Thakur Vishwanath Shahdev District School and its hostel. The hearing for the case of the elderly man, unable to find an ambulance, carrying his ailing wife on his shoulders has been scheduled for October 13th. Advocate Piyush Chitresh presented the government's case.

It is noteworthy that the High Court bench comprising Chief Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Rajesh Shankar, taking serious note of the news published in a newspaper, took suo motu cognizance and converted both cases into public interest litigation.

The condition of the hostel had deteriorated. A local Ranchi newspaper reported that the renovation of the CM School of Excellence (District School) building and the condition of the hostel had deteriorated. The file for the renovation of the school building was stuck. The condition of the hostel had deteriorated significantly. 100 children were living in a dilapidated building, facing daily danger. Water constantly leaked from the walls of the hostel. Due to moisture and dirt, the walls had become discolored. The ceilings of several rooms were damaged.

The High Court had taken suo motu cognizance of another case based on a newspaper report. When the ambulance was not available, Sabar, carrying his ailing wife on his shoulders, set out on foot. The news was taken seriously.

The newspaper reported that government healthcare in the rural areas of East Singhbhum district was itself ailing. When an ambulance was not available at Dhalbhum CHC, a sick Sabar woman was carried on her shoulders by her husband and walked on foot. The doctor referred her to MGM Hospital, Jamshedpur.
